Product Overview

Lambskin Leather Jacket Care Kit LJ3 by Leather Doctor is a leather-safe holistic system to clean, rinse, hydrate, soften, and protect fine lambskin leather.

This Kit LJ3 is handpicked and bundled to include 2 extra specialty cleaning products of higher cleaning efficiency to effectively remove soil without over-cleaning or under-cleaning these delicate lambskin leathers from different soil types.

Kit LJ3 performs a three-step cleaning, conditioning, and protection system to keep lambskin soft and maintain a consistent level of high appearance.

1* Cleaning is performed with a choice of Super Clean 4.9, Strong Clean 4.3, or Clean 3.8 to match soiling levels, followed by Rinse 3.0 to rinse and pH balance the leather back to its neutral pH of 3 to 5.

2* Conditioning is performed with Hydrator 3.3 and Fatliquor 5.0, to hydrate and relax stiff and wrinkle leather before softening the leather structure with the original fatliquor used in the tannery to allow leather transpiration for better dry wearing comfort.

3* Protection is performed with Protector B or the leather scent Protector B Plus for a non-stick surface of sticky soiling and a rub-resistant surface for reduced wear and abrasion rubs.

*Simple tools used are Leather Brush 1, Foam Brush 2, and Towel 5.

People Also Ask:

What is Lambskin leather?

Lambskin leather comes from young sheep that has dyed through to the reverse suede side with transparent aniline dyestuff. The surface is further fine-dye coated to even out its appearance and sealed with a urethane clear gloss topcoat to bring the beauty of the grain surface through. Micro crazing develops sooner which makes the leather more comfortable in transpiration and a bit more absorbent too.

How to Take Good Care of Lambskin Leather?

Lambskin leather, even if we do not use it, is still in the showroom, the leather will still dry up, and softness turns to stiffness especially when exposed to Heat. With sunlight and UV light exposure, the color intensity will weaken and start fading.

So periodically, the color intensity needs to be refreshed by activating the dormant dyestuff within the leather structure to resurface; any unnatural wrinkles, creases, or curls will also need hydrating to relax; and the loss of fatliquor conditioning fat and oil through evaporation will need to be replenished too. When leather is put in use we need to have a cycle of care to match the severity of the soiling condition to maintain the highest level of appearance and softness with strength at all times. The leather-safe system of care includes preventive, routine, periodic, and restorative care.

What is a Preventive Care system for Lambskin leather?

A preventive care system for lambskin leather is the initial surface protective conditioner applied before putting it to use to impart the leather with a buttery feel that enhances the leather luxuriously to the sense of touch; a non-stick surface that shields the leather from sticky soiling thus prolonging a high level of appearance; a rub-resistant ability reduces friction noises that translate into less friction wear; and the optional leather scent diffuses a classic leather scent that boosts the sensuous leather more appealing to the leather lover.

What is a Routine Care system for Lambskin leather?

A routine care system for lambskin leather includes procedures such as general dust cleaning, attending to spots and stains as required especially the pH balancing of sweat stains from shifting alkaline, thus preventing the leather from tackiness. A routine non-stick rub-resistant protection after neutralizing rinse helps keep leather in a more attractive and healthy state while preventing premature wear.

What is a Periodic Care system for Lambskin leather?

A periodic care system for lambskin leather is recommended before soiling causes damage to the finishing; this keeps leather consistently clean and healthy at all times; body contact areas would require more frequent attention than the unused areas; like collar, cuffs, and pocket areas.

What is a Restorative Care System for Lambskin Leather?

A restorative care system for lambskin leather is the ultimate restorative or salvage care system that removes accumulated soiling including aged conditioners, and accumulated soiling that fills creases is often mistaken for cracks.

What is the Clean Super 4.9, Clean Strong 4.3, Clean 3.8, and Rinse 3.0 cleaning and rinsing system?

The Clean Super 4.9 and the Clean Strong 4.3, as the name suggests, are used to match heavy soiling areas, and Clean 3.8 cleans them over for a complete cleaning. It immediately syncs with Rinse 3.0 to remove residue and pH balance simultaneously to a healthy squeaky feel, and it's ready for hydrating and softening with Hydrator 3.3 and Fatliquor 5.0 system.

What is the Hydrator 3.3 and Fatliquor 5.0 hydrating and softening system?

Hydrator 3.3 is water-based with a pH value of 3.3 that hydrates and relaxes leather soft for easy stretching back to dimension and charging the ionic positive (+ve) leather fiber for more effective fatliquoring.

Fatliquor 5.0 is a pH 5.0 ionic negative (-ve) charged micro-emulsion of fat, oil, and water for reconditioning leather softness with strength when dry, breathable, and without the common darkening effect.

Fatliquor 5.0 on application, the water-encased ionic charged fat and oil molecule breaks free when attraction takes place between the fat and oil with the leather protein fiber. The excess free water wicks out leaving a breathing space behind for leather's natural transpiration.

What is the Protector B protective conditioning system?

Protector B or the leather scent version of Protector B Plus imparts non-stick, rub-resistant protection with a buttery feel.

How to work with Clean Super 4.9, Clean Strong 4.3 Clean 3.8, and Rinse 3.0 systems?

1* Clean Super 49 or Clean Strong 4.3 is worked with a horsehair Leather Brush 1 for spreading and brushing to allow for a sufficient dwell time of 5 minutes to an hour for penetrating, lubricating, and suspending the soiling, then brush again before towel extraction until the towel new folding side shows clean.

2* Clean 3.8 is sprayed and brushed and suspended soiling is towel extracted until the new folding side shows clean.

3* Rinse 3.0 is sprayed and brushed again with towel extraction until the new side shows clean and dry ready for hydrating and fatliquoring.

How to work with Hydrator 3.3 and Fatliquor 5.0 systems?

1* Hydrator 3.3 is sprayed and brushed using a Leather Brush 1 to distribute and be absorbed into the leather structure.

2* When the leather appears evenly with moisture saturation, staking, massaging, and flexing return to dimension and is ready for fatliquoring.

3* Fatliquor 5.0 is sprayed and brushed to distribute and be absorbed into the leather structure.

4* Fatliquor 5.0 is repeatedly applied each time the water content evaporates and until the leather takes no more.

5* Leather is left to slow natural drying and before it is fully dried, staking, massaging, or flexing until fully dry will result in softer leather, and ready for protective conditioning.

How to work with Protector B?

1* Protector B is sprayed and spread with a folding towel for an even appearance, let dry, and ready to use.

Tips:

To produce a smart appearance, iron the lambskin over a wool setting on an absorbent clean printing paper to see the amazing result.
