Product Overview
Suede Rinse 3.0 by Leather Doctor® is a pH 3.0 rinse that removes suspended soiling, balances pH, and ionic recharges protein fibers to healthy structure and feel.
Mixing Instructions
- Dilution: Mix 1 part concentrate with 40 parts distilled water
- Shake well before use.
Step-by-Step Application
Pre-Cleaning Prep
- Identify the type of leather (suede, split-suede, or hide suede).
- Inspect for stains or alkaline contamination.
- Remove loose dry soil using a vacuum or brushing.
Application
- Lightly spray the diluted solution evenly over the surface.
-
Agitate gently using:
- Nylon brush for suede
- Brass brush for split-suede (with care!)
- Steel brush for hide-suede (handle delicately)
- Optional: Use a suede eraser to loosen stubborn soil particles.
Soil Extraction
- Blot and extract with a clean, highly absorbent terry cotton towel.
- Repeat if needed until towel shows minimal transfer.
Hand Feel Test
- Assess for a healthy squeaky feel.
- If the surface feels sticky or slimy, this indicates alkaline residue — follow up with Acidifier 2.0 as a corrective rinse.
Proceed to Hydrating
- Once suede passes the squeaky test, it is ready for Hydrator 3.3 and subsequent fatliquoring.
Pro Tips
- Be gentle with aggressive brushes — avoid scratches especially with brass or steel tools.
- Always work in sections and maintain an even application to avoid tide marks.
- Use only distilled water for best results and to prevent mineral spotting.
