Leather Mold Killer Kit A3.mk by Leather Doctor® is a Leather-Safe™ comprehensive fungicide system scientifically formulated to clean, disinfect, sanitize, deodorize, condition, and eliminate mold on leather and suede surfaces.
Understanding Mold on Leather
Mold is a living microorganism identified by:
✅ A characteristic musty odor
✅ Visible moldy patches or surface bloom
It thrives when leather is exposed to:
✅ Water damage
✅ Alkaline cleaning products that destabilize leather’s natural acidic pH (3–5)
✅ Surface soiling (organic nutrients)
✅ Prolonged humid storage conditions
If Unchecked
Mold infestation:
✅ Draws nutrients from leather’s fibrous protein structure
✅ Weakens tear strength and durability
✅ Causes structural deterioration
✅ May leave dark, sunken pitting that requires refinishing
Mold Prevention Protocol
To minimize recurrence:
✅ Maintain leather within its healthy acidic pH range of 3–5
✅ Apply Leather Mold Odor Killer 3.6 as a preventive antifungal treatment before storage
✅ Repeat antimicrobial maintenance every 8 months, similar to a preventive medical cycle
Recommended Holistic Decontamination Sequence
An effective mold restoration process follows this dovetailed structural sequence:
1️⃣ Contain and safely remove visible mold
2️⃣ Mechanical removal – Brush 1 and Eraser 4 for traction cleaning
3️⃣ Clean – Mold 1.5
4️⃣ Rinse & pH balance – Acidifier 2.0
5️⃣ Hydrate & relax fiber structure – Hydrator 3.3
6️⃣ Replenish fat and oil – Fatliquor 5.0 Plus
7️⃣ Disinfect & deodorize – Mold 3.6
8️⃣ Surface protect & condition – Conditioner B Plus
This sequence ensures mold elimination, structural recovery, and long-term prevention.

Step-by-Step Professional Instructions
1️⃣ Cleaning – Leather Mold Cleaner 1.5
- Remove loose surface mold by towel extraction.
- Apply Mold 1.5.
- Agitate with Brush 1 and Eraser 4.
- Extract with towel until towel shows clean.
- Repeat as necessary until contamination is removed.
2️⃣ Rinsing & pH Balancing – Acidifying Conditioner 2.0
- Apply Acidifier 2.0 using Brush 1.
- Towel extract until clean.
- Check surface feel.
The leather should return to a healthy squeaky feel, indicating proper acidic pH restoration.
If slight tackiness remains, allow longer dwell time and re-extract.
3️⃣ Hydrating – Hydrating Conditioner 3.3
Step One – Deep Penetration
Apply Hydrator 3.3 generously to relax and plump the fiber structure.
Step Two – Optimum Hydration Check
Gently press between finger and thumb.
A slight moisture ooze indicates optimal hydration.
- Extract excess moisture with towel.
- Leather is now ready for fatlioring.
4️⃣ Softening – Fatliquoring Conditioner 5.0 Plus
- Apply evenly and brush to distribute thoroughly.
- Allow moisture to evaporate naturally.
- Reapply in cycles until leather reaches full saturation.
Natural drying enhances softness and internal strength.
If darkening occurs, gently stretch or smooth with a spoon while drying to even tone.
5️⃣ Disinfection – Mold Odor Killer 3.6
- Apply evenly with brush or foam applicator.
- Spread for uniform coverage.
- Allow to dry naturally.
This step provides long-term fungicidal control and deodorization.
6️⃣ Conditioning & Protection – Conditioner B Plus
- Apply thin, even coat using foam pad or towel.
- Spread uniformly.
- Allow to dry.
Once dry, leather will exhibit:
✅ A rub-resistant surface
✅ A buttery non-stick feel
✅ A refined leathery scent
