Nappa Auto Leather Gel Degreaser 7.5
Target and Extract Sebum Without Dripping
The Power of Gel.
Leather Doctor® Nappa Auto Leather Gel Degreaser 7.5 is a professional leather degreaser formulated for localized removal of body oil, sebum, sweat, grease, and conditioning-product residue from automotive leather interiors.
Its controlled gel texture keeps the cleaning action where you need it, making it especially useful on headrests, armrests, seat bolsters, steering wheels, door panels, and other high-contact areas where repeated skin contact can leave leather looking dark, shiny, greasy, or sticky.
The mildly alkaline pH 7.5 formula provides additional degreasing power for oily contamination while remaining designed for use on finished automotive leather when properly tested and rinsed.
Designed for High-Contact Automotive Leather
Ideal for localized cleaning of premium automotive interiors, including leather commonly found in:
- Nappa-style automotive leather
- Merino-style automotive leather
- Windsor-style automotive leather
- Other finished and protected automotive leather
Suitable applications may include interiors from brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Land Rover, and Audi, provided the leather finish is compatible and the product is first tested in an inconspicuous area.
Why Degreaser 7.5?
Mildly Alkaline pH 7.5
Provides controlled alkalinity to help loosen and emulsify accumulated oily contamination.
Sebum & Body-Oil Extraction
Targets the oily residues transferred from skin, hair, hands, and repeated contact.
Gel-Controlled Application
Keeps the degreaser localized instead of allowing a watery cleaner to quickly run into perforations, seams, or adjacent areas.
Helps Restore a Clean Matte Appearance
Removes the oily film that can make otherwise healthy automotive leather appear artificially shiny, dark, or sticky.
Mild Sugar-Derived Surfactants
Duo synergized plant-based surfactant provide cleansing and emulsification without relying on aggressive petroleum solvents.
Aerosol-Free
A controlled liquid-gel formulation designed for precise application during interior detailing.
Why Gel Instead of a Conventional Liquid Degreaser?
The difference is control.
A conventional liquid cleaner can spread quickly across a smooth leather panel.
Degreaser 7.5's gel consistency allows the operator to place a small amount directly onto the working area and agitate it with a soft brush or towel.
This makes the product particularly useful when treating:
- Perforated leather
- Ventilated seats
- Seat bolsters
- Headrests
- Armrests
- Steering wheels
- Small localized oil stains
The goal is not to flood the leather.
- The goal is to target the contamination, emulsify it, and extract it.
Typical Contamination
Degreaser 7.5 is particularly useful for:
- Sebum from hair and skin
- Body oil
- Sweat residue
- Greasy fingerprints
- Sunscreen and cosmetic residue
- Leather-care product buildup
- Balm and wax residue
- Darkened high-contact areas
- Sticky or greasy surface contamination
Where to Use It
Common high-contact areas include:
Headrests
Hair and scalp oils can gradually darken and create a shiny appearance.
Armrests & Door Panels
Repeated contact from hands and arms can produce an oily film.
Seat Bolsters
Skin, clothing, and body oils accumulate through repeated entry and exit.
Steering Wheels & Gear Controls
Frequent hand contact can create a greasy or sticky surface.
Localized Shiny Areas
Useful where the shine is caused by accumulated contamination rather than permanent wear or a change in the leather finish.
Important
Degreaser 7.5 is a degreasing step, not a complete leather restoration system.
If the leather remains dry, stiff, worn, abraded, discolored, or structurally depleted after cleaning, additional restoration steps may be required.
Always test first in an inconspicuous area.
Do not assume that every material marketed as “leather” has the same finish or chemistry.
