Instruction
Step 1: Decontamination
Product: Suede Soot Remover 5.3 (Soot 5.3)
1. Purpose:
To remove greasy soot without damaging the fiber.
2. Initial dusting:Gently wipe the surface with a dry soot sponge (optional) to remove loose carbon particles.
3. Spraying:
Apply Soot 5.3 in foam over the surface
4. Agitation:
Gently brush in one direction with a suede brush to encapsulate the soot.
5. Extraction:
Wipe immediately with a clean white towel by transfer (blotting) to absorb the suspended soot.
Continue with this 5-step holistic system:
Step 2: Stabilization
1. Purpose:
To neutralize cleaner residues from step 1 and block dyestuffs.
2. Immediate Application:
While the fiber is still slightly damp from step 1, spray
3. Leave on for 2 to 3 minutes:
The acidity will tighten the fibers and neutralize the ash's alkalinity.
4. Drying and Transfer:
Gently rub with a clean folded cotton towel to remove any remaining alkaline salts.
5. Technical Pause:
Allow the suede to dry in a ventilated room until it is slightly cool to the touch (15-20% residual moisture) before proceeding to the next step.
Step 3: Deodorization
1. Purpose:
Eliminate smoke odors from the upper layers and relax the fiber.
2. Spray Application:
Apply Smoke 3.7 evenly.
The slight increase in pH (from 3.0 to 3.7) gently reopens the suede's pores.
3. Massage:
Work the product in by massaging the surface with a clean brush or microfiber cloth.
4. Reaction Time:
Let the product stand for 5 minutes to destroy surface odor molecules.
Step 4: Hydrating
1. Purpose:
To open the suede's internal channels and eliminate ingrained odors.
2. Controlled Saturation:
Generously spray Hydrator 3.3.
The pH drops to 3.3 to maximize surface tension.
3. Wrapping (Optional for extreme cases):For very stubborn odors, cover the area with plastic wrap for 12 to 24 hours.
4. Check:
The suede must be evenly softened and moist, ready to receive the fatliquor.
Step 5: Fatliquoring
1. Purpose:
To replace the diminishing natural fats and oils in suede.
2. Wet application:
Apply Fatliquor 5.0+ directly onto the still-damp suede from step 4.
3. Capillary Penetration:
The fats and oil will follow the path traced by the Hydrator 3.3 to replenish the fibers deeply.
4. Complete Drying:
Allow the suede to air dry completely (preferably 24 hours).
As the water evaporates, the fats and oils bind to the fibers, restoring the suede's suppleness.
Step 6: Conditioning
1. Purpose:
To seal in fats and oils, with a buttery feel, and permanently close the pores.
2. Finishing Brushing:
Once the leather is completely dry, vigorously brush the suede against the grain to recreate its velvety appearance.
3. Conditioning:
Spray a thin layer of Conditioner 3.2+ over the entire surface.
4. Final Drying:Allow to dry for 30 minutes.
The conditioner imparts a buttery feel, locks in the fats and oils, and shields against sticky soiling.
