Leather Degreaser, Rinse, Hydrator, Softener & Conditioner Kit D3 by Leather Doctor® is a complete professional leather-safe degreasing and conditioning system designed to remove body oils, sweat, and grease while restoring softness and natural strength.
- Just like shampooing hair, proper leather degreasing requires rinsing to flush out suspended soiling. Kit D3 follows this tannery-aligned system:
Degrease → Rinse → Hydrate → Soften (Fatliquor) → Protect.
- Unlike solvent-based degreasers that dissolve essential fatliquor and leave leather stiff and dry, Leather Doctor® Degreaser 2.2 uses a low pH 2.2 water-based formula that preserves leather chemistry—maintaining the ionic attraction between fibers, tanning agents, dyes, and oils.
The result?
- Clean, soft, and supple leather that stays strong, flexible, and beautiful.
Key Features & Benefits
- Leather-Safe Water-Based Formula — Works like shampoo for leather; rinses clean without residue.
- pH 2.2 Balanced — Maintains the leather’s natural ionic structure, preventing denaturing or rawhide reversion.
- Removes Body Oils, Sweat & Grease — Safely lifts contaminants without stripping natural fatliquor.
- Restores Softness & Strength — Hydrator 3.3 and Fatliquor 5.0 replenish lost moisture, oils, and flexibility.
- Protects Against Future Soiling — Protector B leaves a soft, non-stick barrier to resist rubs and stains.
- Versatile Use — Ideal for headrests, armrests, handbags, jackets, cuffs, steering wheels, and more.
- Safe for All Leathers — Perfect for Aniline, Semi-Aniline, Pigmented, Nubuck, and Suede.
pH Balanced Water-Based vs Solvent-Based Degreaser Comparison
| Feature | Leather Doctor® Degreaser 2.2 (Water-Based, pH 2.2) | Solvent-Based Degreasers |
|---|---|---|
| Leather Safety | Maintains ionic balance; leather-safe | Strips oils, destabilizes pH |
| Effect on Fatliquor | Preserves & prepares for replenishment | Dissolves & removes fatliquor |
| Softness & Strength | Restores suppleness and tensile strength | Leaves leather stiff & brittle |
| Compatibility | Safe for all leathers, including Nubuck & Suede | Risky on absorbent & delicate leathers |
