Advanced Oxidation Correction System for Vachetta Leather (Restoration Duo)

Short Description

Restore raw vachetta leather to its original luster.

This professional-grade, two-step system eliminates browning, tannin oxidation, and moisture stains on high-end leather goods without altering the fiber structure.

Long Description

  • Unfinished vachetta leather is a noble material but extremely reactive.
  • When exposed to skin oils, light and humidity, its vegetable tannins oxidize, causing severe browning and unsightly dark circles.
  • Traditional cleaners or harsh optical brighteners damage the fibers and harden the leather.
  • Our 2-Step Correction System uses redox (reduction-oxidation) chemistry to reverse the browning process in a targeted, safe, and controlled manner.

Step 1: The Oxidation Correcting Serum-Gel (pH 2.5)

  • Formulated as a highly structured gel-serum technology,
  • This active treatment penetrates the pores of raw vachetta leather in a controlled manner.
  • Unlike liquids that instantly soak the leather and create new stains,
  • This serum remains on the surface to target only oxidized tannins.
  • Its reducing action breaks the chromophore bonds responsible for darkening and restores the leather to its original light color.

Step 2: High-Performance Neutralizing Rinse (pH 5.0)

The serum's action must be precisely stopped.
Our rinsing solution, accomplishes what pure water cannot:

  • Instant Polymer Destructuring:
    • Its electrolyte charge instantly liquefies the gel film for wiping without sticky residue.
  • pH 5.0 Safety Buffer:
    • It gently raises the pH of the leather from 2.5 to its natural comfort zone (3.0 - 5.0), preventing residual acid from making the leather brittle in the long term.
  • Zero Odor, Zero Dark Circles:
    • Formulated without medicinal alcohol and enriched with protective glycols, it prevents the formation of drying lines.

Features and Benefits:

  • Targeted Redox Technology: Eliminates deep browning caused by the oxidation of vegetable tannins without chemically bleaching the leather.
  • Anti-Porosity Control: The serum-gel texture prevents catastrophic soaking of unfinished vachetta.
  • Intelligent Buffer System: The rinsing solution locks the pH at 5.0, stopping the acid reaction and protecting the integrity of collagen.
  • Premium Low-Odor Formulation: Free from aggressive alcohol odor and drying volatile solvents.
  • Economy Concentrate (Rinse): Ultra-concentrated rinse bottle to be diluted 1:9 with distilled water for optimal long-term preservation.

Key Ingredients

  • Powerful reducing agent that reverses the oxidation of tannins.
  • Salt-resistant polymer that maintains gel texture even in highly ionic environments.
  • Very low odor polymer softener and mild humectant.
  • Stabilizing complex that guarantees a constant pH of 5.0 during application.

Instructions for Use

1. Preparation:

  • Dilute 1 part Rinse Concentrate in 9 parts distilled water. Set aside.

2. Serum Application:

  • Apply a thin, even layer of Serum-Gel to the browned area using leather Brush 1.
  • Leave on for the duration of the treatment, depending on the degree of oxidation (monitor visually).

3. Rinsing and Neutralizing:

  • Dampen a clean Microfiber Towel 3 with the ready-to-use rinsing solution.
  • Gently wipe the treated area to liquefy and remove the gel.

4. Drying:

  • Immediately absorb excess moisture with a dry microfiber cloth.
  • Allow to dry at room temperature, away from heat sources.
  • Inspect for satisfaction otherwise repeat treatment and rinse.

5. Leather Rejuvenation:

  • Continue with Hydrator 3.3 to relax ready for fatliquoring
  • Fatliquor 5.0 replenishes the leather for softness, strength and suppleness.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) — Louis Vuitton Vachetta Leather Restoration

  • Question: Will this product erase or damage the heat stamp or date code on my bag?
    • Answer: No, provided it is applied correctly.
    • The corrector is specifically formulated as a thick gel-serum to prevent it from running or seeping uncontrollably into areas where it shouldn't go.
    • When working near a heat stamp (such as the "Louis Vuitton Paris" logo or the internal Date Code), use a cotton swab to apply the gel precisely around the stamping.
    • Avoid saturating the debossed channels to preserve the crisp, natural depth of the factory lettering.

  • Question: Will this treatment completely strip away the vintage patina from my bag?
    • Answer: This system specifically targets heavy oxidation, embedded tannin stains, and dark water rings.
    • It will lighten the leather to bring it as close to its original, pale-honey hue as possible.
    • If your bag has a healthy, uniform patina that you simply want to clean without completely lightening, adjust the treatment by significantly reducing the leave-on time of the gel-serum.
  • Question: Why is it mandatory to use the pH 5.0 Neutralizing Rinse after the serum?
    • Answer: The Oxidation Corrector operates at a highly acidic pH of 2.5 to effectively reverse deep tannin browning.
    • If you do not neutralize it, the residual acid trapped within the porous fibers will slowly hydrolyze and weaken the leather as it dries, causing it to become rigid and crack over time.
    • Our pH 5.0 rinse halts the acid reaction instantly, dissolves the polymer film, and re-balances the leather back to its safe physiological comfort zone.
  • Question: Can I use this system on the monogram canvas panels or the metal hardware?
    • Answer: This system is formulated exclusively for raw, unfinished vachetta leather.
    • While it will not harm coated canvas (like Monogram or Damier) if you accidentally smudge it, you should wipe it off immediately with a dry cloth.
    • Avoid direct or prolonged contact with brass rivets, zippers, and gold-plated hardware to prevent premature metal oxidation.
  • Question: My bag's leather feels slightly dry after finishing the process. Is this normal?
    • Answer: Yes. Stripping away years of oxidation and neutralizing the acid temporarily removes a portion of the leather's surface oils.
    • Because of this, the vachetta may look matte or feel firm immediately after it dries.
    • To restore its original buttery-soft feel, it is essential to follow with Hydrator 3.3 to relax and continue with Fatliquor 5.0 to rejuvenate softness, strength and suppleness as soon as the rinsing and extraction phase is completed.
