Leather can become progressively dry, stiff, darkened, greasy, or uneven—not simply because its surface is dirty, but because years of body oils, grease, perspiration, cosmetics, and environmental contamination can migrate into the leather.
The Leather Doctor® Degreasing & Rejuvenating System is designed to address this deeper condition.
Rather than treating the surface alone, the system follows a controlled wet-process approach:
Degrease → Rinse → Relax → Replenish
It is designed for leather, nubuck, suede, hair-on-hide, and pH-sensitive Vachetta, with the appropriate product and technique selected for each leather type.
What Is the Degreasing & Rejuvenating System?
The system is a coordinated set of four products:

Why Degreasing Comes First
When leather has accumulated body oils, grease, perspiration, or other oily contamination, applying conditioner or fatliquor directly onto the surface can produce an undesirable result.
The existing contamination needs to be addressed first.
Degreasing creates the opportunity for rejuvenation.
The sequence therefore begins with:
Contamination Removal → Rinsing → Hydration → Fatliquoring

The Four Products Working as a System
Degreaser 2.2
The first stage addresses oily contamination that has migrated into the leather.
It is particularly useful where leather shows signs such as:

Long-term accumulation of conditioners or oils
Degreasing is not the same as cleaning ordinary surface dirt.
Its purpose is to address deep contamination that ordinary leather cleaners may not adequately remove.
Rinse 3.0
After degreasing, the suspended contamination and processing residues need to be flushed away.
Rinse 3.0 provides the controlled rinsing stage between degreasing and rejuvenation.
This is an important part of the system rather than an optional afterthought.
Hydrator 3.3
Once contamination has been removed, the leather may reveal a condition that was previously masked by oils and residues:
depletion.
Hydrator 3.3 helps relax the leather fiber structure and prepares the leather for the next stage.
This is why hydration follows rinsing rather than being applied indiscriminately at the beginning.
Fatliquor 5.0
Leather is a protein fiber structure that depends on sufficient fat and oil for flexibility and resilience.
Fatliquor 5.0 replenishes fat and oil within the leather fibers after the cleaning and hydration stages.
The objective is not simply to make leather feel oily.
The objective is to restore appropriate fat and oil within the fiber structure.
