 Mixing 

4 oz Fill

Add 98 g Distilled Water

8 oz Fill

Add 195 g Distilled Water

Add 778 g Distilled Water

Mix thoroughly before use.

 Instructions

1️⃣ Step 1 — Stabilize

Complete the Leather Doctor® Core System™ first:

  • Clean
  • Rinse
  • Correct with Acidifier 2.0 when required

Do not proceed until the leather has been properly stabilized.

2️⃣ Step 2 — Evaluate

  1. Rub the leather with a clean white cotton terry towel.
  2. If no dye transfers, Dye Fix 2.8 is unnecessary.
  3. Only when dye transfer still remains should Dye Fix 2.8 be introduced.

 3️⃣ Step 3 — Fix 

  1. Fold a clean white cotton terry Towel 1 several times and dampen it with the diluted Dye Fix 2.8 solution.
  2. The towel should be thoroughly damp but not dripping.
  3. Using firm, overlapping strokes, rub the leather evenly over the entire panel or section.
  4. As the towel absorbs loose dye, continuously refold it to expose a clean surface and continue rubbing.
  5. This working process simultaneously: 
  6. improves dye fixation within the leather structure,
  7. and removes loose dye that has wicked to the surface.
  8. Continue until minimal additional dye transfers to the towel.

 4️⃣ Step 4 — Extract

  1. Allow the leather to dry completely.
  2. Do not rinse.
  3. As the leather dries, a small amount of remaining loose dye may continue to wick toward the surface.

 5️⃣ Step 5 — Repeat

  1. Repeat the Fix & Extract process using a clean folded white cotton terry Towel 1.
  2. Again, continue rubbing while frequently changing to clean towel surfaces until very little additional dye is removed.
  3. This second application improves overall dye stability while removing residual dye released during the first drying cycle.

6️⃣ Step 6 — Verify

  1. Once completely dry, perform a final white towel test.
  2. Rub firmly with a clean white cotton terry towel.
  3. If the towel remains essentially clean, dye stabilization has been successfully completed.
  4. If slight dye transfer still remains, another Fix & Extract cycle may be performed.
  5. Leather Doctor® believes stabilization should always be verified—not assumed.

 7️⃣ Step 7 — Complete Structural Restoration

Once satisfactory dye stability has been achieved:

1. Relax Structure

Apply Hydrator 3.3 to relax, equalize moisture distribution, and restore fiber mobility throughout the leather structure.

1. Replenish Lubrication

Apply Fatliquor 5.0 or 5.0+ to replenish internal lubricating oils and restore flexibility, tensile strength, and long-term durability.

3. Refine & Preserve

Apply Conditioner 3.2 or 3.2+ to reduce surface friction, refine the feel, and maintain a smooth, natural finish without stickiness.
