Product Overview
Vachetta Leather Tannin Remover - Kit-V5.ns is formulated to remove most stains that is vegetable and plant derives including coffee, tea, grass, juice and beverages including water from vachetta, saddlery or veg-tan leathers. These naked unfinished leathers has a low pH value averages 3 and rain or tap water alone with a pH value close to 7 will often cause markings to these pH sensitive leathers. Rings and spotting is a displacement of the natural tanning agents which also determines the coloring of the naked and unfinished leather. Prior to pH balancing surface soiling and surface tension will need to be removed and rinse prior to pH balancing. Surface soiling and surface tension is removed with LeatherCleaner-3.8 follows with LeatherRinse-3.0. pH balancing continues with with a low pH 2.0 value acidifier like LeatherAcidifier-2.0 will rectify these water stains problems when dry. And to achieve an even appearance, the entire panel need to be saturated to allow redistribution of the existing tanning agents and fatliquor fat and oil contents. Stains that are caused by natural food coloring from a vegetable or plant source will require a redox (reduction-oxidation) reaction product like LeatherTanninRemover-3.5. Prior to redox treatment, the leather is first clean and rinse with LeatherCleaner-3.8 follows by LeatherRinse-3.0. Leather rejuvenation is highly recommend to follow to replenished the diminishing fatliquor through ageing so that the too dried leather will not further stiff up when dried without enough percentage of fatliquor (fat and oil) content. As the vachetta leather coloring is also derived from plants and vegetables matters, an overall treatment is mandatory to achieve an even appearance. Vegetable-tanned leathers when exposed to sunlight will darken as it ages, just like our tanned skin; reducing the tannin ageing color is another use. LeatherHydrator-3.3 helps to moves and redistribute any foreign derive coloring effect; helps reduce surface tension for a more even appearance prior to fat and oil replenishing. LeatherFatliquor-5.0 contributes to the intensity of the color with a richer tone besides imparting leather with softness and suppleness when dry. LeatherProtector-D enhances a non-stick draggy-feel to shield against sticky soiling. Besides, it has the abilities to heal and conceal lightening scuff and abrasion marks. Note that the mentioned products suffix numbers denotes its pH value in this holistic approach to removing vegetable and plant derived stains including water from vachetta, saddlery and veg-tan leathers. This kit comes in reduced shipping weight, thus all the concentrates in the bottles have to be mix/cut with distilled water prior to use.
Instruction for Water Stain Removal
Cleaning System:
1- Surface soiling and surface tension is first removed with LeatherCleaner-3.8 using HorseHairBrush-1.
2- Suspended soiling is extracted with a dry terry cotton towel or towel-5 to extract until towel shows clean.
Rinsing System:
1- The cleaned surface is rinse with LeatherRinse-3.0 and dry towel extract until towel shows clean.
pH Balancing System:
1- Apply LeatherAcidifier-2.0 saturating the entire surface for an even appearance, towel extract and continue with the leather rejuvenating system:
Hydrating System:
1- Hydrating continues immediately after pH balancing with saturating the leather structure with LeatherHydrator-3.3.
2- The leather structure is saturated for the redistribution of the leather constituents like the tanning agent and the fatliquor to resurface for an even appearance.
Fatliquoring System:
1- Diminishing existing fatliquor through aging is replenished with LeatherFatliquor-5.0.
2- LeatherFatliquor-5.0 is applied and saturated allowing the water content to evaporate prior to repeat replenishing.
3- The leather is left for slow natural drying.
Sticky Residue Removal:
1- Sticky residue is removed until the milky surface solution turns clear with LeatherHydrator-3.3 and agitating with a HorseHairBrush-1
2- Damp surface is towel extracted until towel shows clean.
3- Let to slow natural drying.
Leather Protection System:
1- A non-stick, rub-resistant draggy-feel protector that seals and heals surface grains is performed with LeatherProtector-D.
