1. Why is Sweat Harmful to Leather?
When fresh, sweat is virtually odorless. It is the atmospheric bacteria, that interact with the sweat, that causes sweat to smell sometimes like ammonia. The pH of ammonia may rise to about 11. In contrast, the pH value of Vachetta leather is in the lower pH value of 3 to 5. In extreme cases, this alkaline over-exposure causes the denature of the leather, appears as a darkening effect, and when the tanning agents leach out manifesting as stickiness when felt with wet fingers. The fatliquor which keeps the leather soft and strong will also leach out as a cloudy residue, become stiff, and when stress cracks.
2. Why use Rinse with Leather Scent on a Routine Care System?
Rinse 3.0 Plus with its classic leather scent is used as a routine rinse to mask unpleasant odors and pH balance harmful alkaline contamination simultaneously, before applying Protector W Plus or Protector B Plus option.
3. When is the time for Leather Softness and Strength Reconditioning?
Leather softness and strength reconditioning with Hydrator 3.3 and Fatliquor 5.0 system to prevent leather stiffness and cracking when the leather becomes too absorbent. "Fatliquor is the Lifeblood of Leather". The fat plumps the leather for fullness and the oil lubricates the leather structure with flexibility. The fullness of the leather with fats reduces the leather absorbency, thus reducing the unwanted darkening appearance.
4. How Rinse 3.0 Plus Works!
Rinse 3.0 Plus pH balances and neutralizes harmful alkaline contamination when applied, horsehair brushed and towel extracted until the towel shows clean.
Rinse 3.0 Plus charges the amphoteric leather protein fiber ionic positive (+ve) to increase the attraction between the negative (-ve) constituents like the tanning agent, dyestuff, and fatliquor from breaking the hydrogen bond and leaching out of the structure, denaturing the leather.
5. Is Rinse 3.0 Plus a Leather Safe Product?
Rinse 3.0 Plus has a pH value of 3.0 which is within the average pH value of leather and suede from 3 to 5. Thus is safe for all leather, nubuck, suede, wool skin, and hair-on-hide.
