Product Overview
Leather Pigment 54 by Leather Doctor® is a fine micro-pigment, water-based compact resin blend with high UV fade resistance.
It is specially formulated for refinishing high-end semi-aniline and pigmented leathers, delivering a durable and vibrant finish. For optimal results, seal with choice of Matte 54, Satin 54 or Gloss 54 topcoat.
Recommended Preparation Steps
Cleaning: Use Prep 7.7, Soft 3.8, and Rinse-3.0.
Degreasing: Use Degreaser 2.2 and Acidifier 2.0.
Stripping (if necessary): Use Stripper 2.3 to remove deteriorated finishes.
Hydrating: Apply Hydrator 3.3 to relax leather structure and redistribute tannins.
Softening: Replenish fatliquor with Fatliquor 5.0 for suppleness.
Adhesion Promotion: Apply Adhesor 73. as a primer for pigment bonding.
Pigment Application Instructions:
Anchorage: Apply the first coat by padding to ensure even wetting without streaks.
Uniformity: Fine spray in light coats, allowing each to dry before applying the next.
Sanding: Between coats, lightly sand with 1500-2000 grit to achieve a smooth, professional finish.
Topcoat: Seal with Matte 54, Satin 54, or Gloss 54 for desired luster and durability.
Protection: Finish with Protector B to impart a buttery feel and shield against soiling.
