Product Overview

Leather Nubuck Dye Fix - Kit-N3.df by Leather Doctor is an innovative leather-safe (pH 3 - 5) system designed to fix crocking problems on new nubuck. Dye Fix-99 is a water-based dye fix spray to abate crocking. It greatly reduces or eliminates crocking on most problems with good fixing. It improves wet rub fastness and reduces bleeding. It maintains the natural feel and “finger writing effect” of the nap. It is common for new nubuck to have a crocking problem. Crocking is the tendency of color to transfer from the leather onto other surfaces when rubbed under dry condition. The rubbing off color may be from the result of improper dyeing, poor penetration or poor fixation. Buffing residues from the tannery not thoroughly removed may also be a problem, but easily rectifiable with a thorough cleaning with Eraser-4 follows with vacuuming and checking it with a dry terry towel. Protector-S+ is the recommended preventive maintenance set-up after dye fixing. It is non-film forming which allows the leather to breathe through with extra sitting comfort. It is designed to impart the new leather with a non-stick surface that reduces the effect of sticky soiling, a rub-resistant silky-feel that reduces friction wear and enhances the leather with the unforgettable classic leather scent. This initial preventive care helps keep leather at its high level of appearance longer and it is recommended throughout the cycles of the routine, periodic and restorative care system. The cleaning system of Prep-4.4, Clean-3.8 and Rinse-3.0 takes care of heavy soiling including removal of dye transfer stains from new blue jeans. Leather rejuvenating system to keep the leather supple and strong is accomplished with Hydrator-3.3 and Fatliquor-5.0 in this holistic nubuck leather care system from new.

Instruction:

 Dye Fixing:
1. Application is done by mist sprayer or professionally by compress dry application with a cone shape spray at air pressure between 80 to 100psi.
2. Compress dry application is achieve with increased atomization and decreased feed.
3. Spray application is done in a circular motion with continuous brushing deep into the nap without over flooding a section at a time.
4. Use nubuck Brush-2 again when dry for a “finger writing effect”.

Non-Stick Rub-resistant Protection:
1. Shake very well, mist spray Protector-S+ evenly and brush-in with nubuck Brush-2.
2. When dry thereafter groom with nubuck Brush-2 again for a silky finger writing effect and it is ready for use.

Routine Care:
Routine care includes procedures such as general dust cleaning, attending to spots and stains as required especially the neutralizing of sweat stains from shifting alkaline. Thus prevents leather from tackiness. A routine non-stick rub resistant protection after neutralizing rinse helps keep leather in a more attractive and healthy state while preventing premature wear. 1. Spray Rinse-3.0, nubuck Brush-2 and/or Eraser-4 agitates and towel extract until it shows clean.
2. Mist sprays Protector-S+ spread and towel extract soiling simultaneously until it shows clean and is ready for use when dry.

Periodic Care:
Periodic care is recommended before soiling causes damages to the finishing. This keeps leather consistently clean and healthy at all times. Body contact areas would require more frequent attention than the unused areas. While the leather headrest and hand rest gets the most of body oil and sweat contacts.
1st phase – Periodic Care:
1. Spray Cleaner-3.8 and agitate with nubuck Brush-2 and/or Eraser-4 ensuring a uniform application over the entire surfaces a section at a time.
2. Towel extract until it shows clean.
3. Remaining residues are spray rinse with Rinse-3.0 and towel extract to a squeaky-clean.
4. Let dry and inspect for satisfaction, otherwise repeat cleaning process as necessary or proceed to hydrating.
2nd phase – Hydrating:
Hydrating is essential to relax and separate the stick together collapsing fibrous structure. Moreover, it is to check for surface tension from blotchiness prior to fat and oil replenishing.
1. Spray Hydrator-3.3 to check for an even appearance.
3rd phase – Fat and Oil Replenishing:
Fatliquor evaporates as VOC (volatile organic compound) when temperatures rises especially from exposed surfaces. Periodic fat and oil replenishing maintains the leather’s structure integrity and pliability thus soften and strengthen these exposed leather from cracking.
1. Spray Fatliquor-5.0 in like manner as Hydrator-3.3 and let dry naturally.
2. Repeat application in between drying until saturated.
3. Slow natural drying the leather for extra softness.
4. Wipe surface strays with Hydrator-3.3 to free of sticky residue.
4th phase – Non-Stick, Rub-Resistant Protection:
1. Shake very well, mist spray Protector-S+ evenly and brush-in with nubuck Brush-2/
2. When dry thereafter groom with nubuck Brush-2 again for a silky finger writing effect and it is ready for use.

Restorative Care:
This is the ultimate restorative or salvage care system that removes accumulated soiling. Restorative cleaning is performed by using Prep-4.4. It works by chemical reaction to emulsify soiling through its penetrating, lubricating and suspending power. Nubuck Brush-2 and/or Eraser-4 is recommended to worked into heavily soiled areas sufficiently on heavily used areas. Note: Degreasing will require Degreaser-2.2 follows with Rinse-3.0.
1st phase - Restorative Cleaning:
1. Apply Prep-4.4 with a Rinse-3.0 wet out foam brush for easy spreading and agitate with Nubuck Brush-2 and/or Eraser-4, ensuring a uniform application over the entire surfaces a section at a time.
2. Allow a dwell time of 10 to 30 minutes or before it dries prior to towel extraction until it shows clean.
3. Removes sticky residue with Cleaner-3.8, gently brush agitates and towel extracts until it shows clean.
4. Spray Rinse-3.0 and towel extracts to a squeaky-clean.
5. Dry and inspect for satisfaction, otherwise repeat cleaning process as necessary or proceed to hydrating.
2nd phase – Hydrating:
Hydrating is essential to relax and separate the stick together collapsing fibrous structure. Its surfactantcy helps check for surface tension from blotchiness prior to fat and oil replenishing.
1. Spray Hydrator-3.3 to saturate with an even appearance to plumps up the leather.
2. Let dwell 10 to 30 minutes and towel extract wick up soiling until it shows clean.
3rd phase – Fat and Oil Replenishing:
Fat and oil replenishing maintains the leather’s structure integrity and pliability thus strengthen these exposed leather from cracking.
1. Spray Fatliquor-5.0 in like manner as Hydrator-3.3 and let dry naturally.
2. Repeat application in between drying until saturated.
3. Allow slow natural drying for extra softness.
4. Wipe surface strays with Hydrator-3.3 to free of sticky residue.
4th phase – Non-Stick, Rub-Resistant Protection:
1. Shake well, mist spray Protector-S+ evenly and brush-in with nubuck Brush-2.
2. When dry thereafter groom with nubuck Brush-2 again for a silky finger writing effect and it is ready for use.
