Product Overview
Aniline Wax Pull-up Leather Bloodstain Remover Kit AW5.bs by Leather Doctor® removes bloodstains, pH balance, acidifying rinse, hydrates, fatliquor, and conditions.
Old bloodstains do coagulates and dried bloodstains may range from tan to dark brown with an outer ring, oxidized bloodstain can shift from red to tan and black.
A high-performance, tannery-grade leather specialized Protein 9.9 with a pH 9.9 formulation is necessary to break down stubborn protein matter safely and efficiently.
As part of the bloodstain Leather-Safe™ holistic system, Acidifier 2.0 is a mandatory follow-up to neutralize the high alkalinity, restoring the leather to its ideal pH and leaving it with a healthy, squeaky-clean feel. Note: Refinishing may be necessary if the protein contamination has caused physical damage to the leather's topcoat with this Aniline Wax Pull-Up Leather Topcoat Refinishing Kit AW6.tc
⭐ Why is it tough to remove a blood stain from leather?
Blood stains are particularly stubborn because they’re protein-based and have a tendency to coagulate with the leather’s protein fibers, making removal more difficult—even with a specialty remover like Protein 9.9.
Additionally, blood contains iron, which darkens as it ages, causing stains to shift in color from tan to black, often with a visible outer ring.
To effectively remove a blood stain, two components must be addressed:
1️⃣ Protein Component:
- Treated first using Protein 9.9, then neutralized and rinsed with Acidifier 2.0 to restore the leather’s pH and remove residue.
2️⃣ Iron Component:
- Once the leather is dry and protein-free, any remaining rusty discoloration is treated with Tarnish 1.3, a redox (oxidation-reduction) agent, and then safely rinsed freely with distilled water to complete the process.
⭐ Kit AW5.bs concentrates require 1141g (1.25 Quarts) to be mixed and filled before use to these selected leather-safe products:
Leather Protein Stain Remover 9.9
Protein 9.9 by Leather Doctor® is a specialized solution designed to effectively remove protein-based stains such as blood, creams, egg, gravy, ice cream, milk, vomit, and other organic contaminants.
- Bloodstain requires this high-performance, pH 9.9 formula to break down stubborn protein matter safely and efficiently.
- As part of the Leather-Safe™ holistic system, Acidifier 2.0 is a mandatory follow-up to neutralize the high alkalinity, restoring the leather to its ideal pH and leaving it with a healthy, squeaky-clean feel.
Acidifier 2.0 by Leather Doctor is a pH 2.0 acidic rinse designed to control, neutralize, and restore leather’s natural pH balance. It prevents leather from denaturing, which can lead to bleeding, streaking, tackiness, and structural weakness due to alkaline overexposure.
Leather Tarnish Stain Remover 1.3
Tarnish 1.3 by Leather Doctor removes metal stains like rust, tarnishing, some ink, and dye including the urochrome-yellowing effect. Remover 1.3 is a water-based pH 1.3 reduction-oxidation (redox) leather tarnish stain remover. In addition, any stain that is metal-derived will probably be removed with this product.
Hydrator 3.3 by Leather Doctor is a pH 3.3 hydrating conditioner designed to relax, soften, and restore leather’s natural integrity while preparing it for fatliquoring.
⭐ Key Benefits:
✔ Restores Leather Softness & Flexibility – Relaxes stiff fibers and prevents brittleness
✔ Smooths Out Creases & Wrinkles – Prepares leather for optimal conditioning
✔ Reactivates Dormant Dyestuff – Helps resurface color for a more even appearance
✔ Prepares for Fatliquoring – Enhances absorption of essential oils and fats
✔ Residue-Free & Non-Sticky – Ensures a clean, breathable finish
⭐ How It Works:
Hydrator 3.3 penetrates deep into the leather, reducing surface tension and allowing for colloidal water movement to reactivate dyes and even out color inconsistencies. It plumps the leather structure, making it more receptive to fatliquoring with Fatliquor 5.0, which restores essential oils for long-term suppleness and durability.
Fatliquor 5.0 by Leather Doctor is a pH 5.0 micro-emulsion of fat, oil, and water to restore the leather's original softness, strength, and flexibility.
⭐ How It Works:
✔ Replenishes Essential Fats & Oils
- Prevents leather from drying, stiffening, or cracking
✔ Enhances Leather’s Suppleness & Elasticity
- Maintains a soft, luxurious feel
✔ Strengthens Leather Fibers
- Improves tensile strength and durability
✔ Creates a Breathable Structure
- Ensures leather remains pliable without feeling greasy
✔ Prevents Brittleness & Fiber Breakage
- Essential for long-term leather preservation
⭐ Application Process:
When applied, the water-encased fat and oil molecules penetrate deep into the leather fibers. As the water gradually evaporates, the fat and oil molecules hydrogen bond with the fibers, creating a breathable, flexible structure that enhances leather’s resilience and longevity.

Application Instructions for Protein-Based Stains (e.g., Dried and Caked Blood)
Mechanical Removal
- Gently brush, erase, and break up dried or caked blood using a soft brush, leather eraser, or bamboo skewer.
2️⃣ Protein Stain Treatment with Protein 9.9
- Apply Protein 9.9 directly onto the stain. Agitate using a brush, eraser, or bamboo skewer to break up and loosen the stain.
Towel Extraction

- Rinse the treated area with Acidifier 2.0, continuing until the towel extracts clean and the leather feels healthy and squeaky.
5️⃣ Post-Cleaning Inspection
- Allow the leather to dry. If any rusty discoloration appears, treat the area with Tarnish 1.3 and rinse to balance pH with distilled water.
Hydrating and Fatliquoring
